Historical information

These bi-focal glasses were made by H & G Stiles of Bendigo for either Ruby Wallace (nee Owen) (1891 - 1973) or Edward Owen (1853-1945) - the family was living in Inglewood in regional Victoria during this time. Stiles Opticians operated most likely between 1900 and 1939. The pair of glasses was donated by an Emerald resident who received them from Ruby.

These eye glasses are an example of early 20th century bi-focal style eye wear

A pair of frameless gold coloured bi-focal eye glasses in a dark coloured hard case and includes a green cleaning cloth
