Historical information
The Edwardian building was opened on the 23rd January 1916 and was blessed by Archbishop Mannix. It was the convent for the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart and the building functioned as a convent in Sunbury for the next 109 years. It closed on 13th July 2025. For many years the Sisters of St. Joseph were teachers at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School. It was located in Macedon Street opposite the Sunbury Global Learning Centre.
