Historical information
A few little privately run schools were set up in Bulla township from the late 1850s before Bulla State School No.46 was built and opened on 25th November 1870. It was a bluestone building with a slate roof and an extra weatherboard classroom was built later. The school was built at the end of School Lane near Deep Creek. A swing Bridge was built across the creek to give pupils quicker access to school. The school functioned until December 1996 when it closed and the property was sold and became a private residence.
Significance
Bulla State School No.46 was one of the earliest government school to be established in the district and functioned in the original building for 126 years until it was closed.
