Historical information
The yacht HMAS Franklin was built in Leith, Scotland. It was acquired by the Royal Australian Navy in 1915 and served as a temporary Royal Yacht for the Prince of Wales (later King Edward V11) during his tour of Australia in 1920, for day trips on Port Phillip Bay.

Physical description
Cardboard framed black and white photograph of HMAS Franklin, most probably on Port Phillip Bay. Franklin was a steam yacht with one funnel and two masts. Yacht is under steam. Coloured image of crossed flags of Australia and Britain (symbol of friendship and cooperation) displayed at bottom of frame.
