Historical information
A New Testament published in 1919 in commemoration of peace often refers to small New Testament books given to schoolchildren or soldiers after World War I, such as those associated with the signing of the Versailles Peace Treaty, which ended the war. These commemorative items were a common way to mark the armistice and the subsequent peace celebrations, providing a tangible connection to the end of the conflict and the hope for a more peaceful future.
