Historical information
This coat hanger was donated with two items of clothing made by Pauline Nobelius while in Glen Waverly High School in 1967-8. While it has greater significance alongside those items, independently it is a good example of a style of coat hanger in use in the 1960s. Wooden hangers were often preferred over the wire version as their wider shape was less likely to crease or damage clothes. Colour has long been added to children's hangers to make them more visually appealing to their users.
Significance
This coat hanger belonged to a member of the Nobelius family and was donated alongside two pieces of clothing made by Pauline Nobelius.
