Wool embroidery worked by donor's great grandfather John Watson.. John was born on 04/12/1848. He joined the Imperial Navy in England then the Colonial Navy based in Victoria (HMS Victoria 1/10/1875-11/1/1876 and HMS Cerberus 14/1/1876-20/6/1880) John was appointed constable in the Williamstown Water Police in June 1880. John rescued 3 boys from the water off Gem Pier Williamstown as reported in the Argus 17/9/1895.
