Clothing - Waist Coat (front only), Early 19th century

Historical information

The waist coat belonged to a relative of the Baroness Felicitas Wiedersperger of Tzouitz, Czechoslovakia. It was purchased in London early in the 19th century.

Physical description

Black corded silk material embroidered with tiny sprigs of two styalised flowers in horizontal rows with embroidered spots in between. The lapels and pocket tops have a linear floral design. Colours used are greens, pinks, yellow and a purple/red. Lined with a rust coloured twill cotton. Front part only of a man's waist coat. Seven black silk covered buttons.
