Casalguidi is an embroidery technique, rather than just a stitch. It consists of very heavy raised stem stitch worked in curves or lines, on a background of pulled thread four-sided stitching.
A late 19th/early 20th century whitework technique from Tuscany, Italy.

Cream linen envelope style bag embroidered in traditional Casalguidi style and five bobble tassels on the bottom edge.
