One of a number of samplers (see 1206, 1207, 1208) embroidered by the donor's aunt, Miss Elizabeth Lewis while studying at the Royal School of Needlework.
She taught and judged embroidery all over England.
Physical description
This is a typical Royal School of Needlework Jacobean Crewel Sampler showing different stitches and techniques in shades of pink, gold, yellow, green and blue/green crewel wool on linen twill.
