The donor's father saved the life of a Belgium soldier during WWI. (Father - Ferdinand Collins, 5th Battalion AIF). In thanks the soldier gave Mr Collins this circle of lace.
The circle of lace which could be used with the flounce on a garment or the edge of a cloth. It is made up of tiers of tape lace and crochet.
