Historical information

The cloth is thought to have been worked on the ship on the way to Australia in 1922.

Physical description

Unfinished cloth of cream linen, with a 120 mm wide band of drawn thread work around each side, unfinished on one and a half sides. The working area of the cloth is mounted on a purpose-made frame, which is padded. The frame would be moved on as each section of embroidery is completed. Also included is a reel of cotton.
