Historical information

Purchased in Austria in 1937 by donor's father as a present for his wife. The vendors stated only two bags were made like this. The second bag was sold to Queen Mary, the mother of King George V1.

Physical description

Rural scenes both side of bag. Metal frame and handle.Frame is decorated with small green metal leaves and tiny pearls.Gusset is of flowers and a black ground,and black fine piping. Stitched in fine silk . Lined in apricot silk and containing a tiny purse and mirror.
