Plan - Red, White and Blue United Gold Mine, 1911

Historical information

The Red White and Blue United mine was situated on Thistle Street, Golden Square.
Mr. William Henry Cundy, geologist and engineer, was born in Hobart and came to Bendigo in 1893 to an appointment in the Mines Department. In collaboration with E.J. Dunn, he undertook to make a special report on the Bendigo Goldfields. He was also involved in charting the Bendigo lines of reef and in producing plans of the mines.

Physical description

Heavy paper. Blue border label on outside of plan: ' 14-BC16, R W & Blue United, long and trans sections'. On top right hand corner of plan: 'Red White and Blue United Co., Scale ( in feet). Written in faded pen, below name of mine: ' Mr. Wm. H. Cundy, Bendigo, Oct 24th, 1911'
The mine plan is part of the Margaret Roberts Collection.
