Underneath is a black circle with Education Department Victoria surrounding a symbol. Second Edition is printed at the lower right on the front cover. All children in Victorian Primary Schools were given these readers to supplement their reading at home. There are short stories, poems and black and white illustrations. Pp. 244

Summary

The Victorian Readers were a series of school readers (eight in number) produced between 1928 and 1930 for school children in Victoria and used (with revisions) until the 1950s. This is a second edition of The Victorian Readers Sixth Book published by the Education Department of Victoria for use in Grade Six in Primary Schools.
