Physical description

A set of 8 varying coloured paperback facsimile reprint of Victorian Readers 1 to 8 in a grey cardboard slipcase. Each book has printed in black lettering at the top of the front cover, First Book and so on through to the Eighth Book. Underneath the First and Second Book is an outline of a child reading. The Third to the Eighth Books have a black circle with Education Department Victoria surrounding a symbol. There are short stories, poems and black and white illustrations in them all. There are varying paginations.

Summary

The Victorian Readers were a series of school readers (eight in number) produced between 1928 and 1930 for school children in Victoria and used (with revisions) until the 1950s. This is a facsimile reprint of all 8 readers of The Victorian Readers published by the Education Department of Victoria for use in Grades One to Eight in Primary Schools.
