Historical information
The building in the image is the Goonawarra Golf Clubrooms, which opened in Sunbury on 24th April 1980. The golf club and the surrounding housing area was established on former farmland owned by the McMahon family.
Significance
Before the Goonawarra Golf Club was built, Sunbury residents played golf at the Pines Golf Club which was on land within the Sunbury Asylum complex.

A black and white photograph of a clubrooms or community hall. There are large windows on the exterior walls and a verandah surrounding the building.
