As the middle class grew and people started to pay more attention to tableware and dining etiquette, there was a demand for specialized kitchen tools. Hand salad servers became a popular addition to the dining table. They were often made of silver or other metals, which were seen as a sign of wealth and sophistication.

Physical description

A vintage silver plated hand salad server fork with a long lined patterned handle finishing with a crest. It has a hole at the end to hang it. Three cutout triangular shapes form the fork at the serving end of the bowl.
