George James Ottoway, (born Sydney, enlisted Melbourne) enlisted No 52834 in the RAAF on 30.3.1942, appointed to a Commission 2.5.1942 No 265088 as a Pilot Officer, Flying Officer 2.11.1942, FLT Lieut 1.1.1945. He had postings in QLD, NSW, VIC and New Guinea. New Guinea postings were Fall River, Gurney, Pt Moresby, Milne Bay, Berri between June 1942 - 8.10.1943. Appointment terminated 22.3.1946.

Letter on white paper with heading from Royal Australian Airforce from the Air Board thanking F.L.T. Ottoway James for his service to the RAAF during WW2 after his discharge in June 1946. Letter is attached to cardboard and signed by Air Commodore.
