This brick was salvaged after demolition of the main Alfred Hospital Nurses Home on 5 August, 1996. (see photograph on media page) Donor used it as a doorstop and took it to reunions of her nursing group
Significance
This brick is significant to the Alfred Hospital Nurses League as many members lived there during their training and there was much controversy around the demolition of the building.
