Significance
The belt illustrates the ways in which patriotic loyalties were demonstrated. These belts were made in each of the war years. It is also used here to illustrate the wide range of countries and units involeved in WW1.
Physical description
Wide (960x95mm) tan coloured canvas belt with two attaching straps with steel buckles (no longer attached) and faded stripes along upper and lower edges.
Inscriptions & markings
Embroidered into the body of the belt are the words "Gloire aux Allies", with a 1914 date, and crossed flags of the Allies.
