Historical information

An Australian Army TAC (Tactical) sign ( also called a Formation Sign) carries an emblem identifying unit, corps, or command. They are used on vehicles, buildings and equipment. The Australian Army signs include numbers and symbols to denote different corps. Signs were generally metal, painted with the relevant colours and markings. This object was collect by Corporal W K Folland during his service with the Royal Corps of Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in Vietnam 1968-9.

Physical description

A metal holder with a sliding insert. The metal holder is painted with three horizontal stripes: blue, yellow and red. The sliding insert has a painted yellow shield with a green edge, in the centre is a red kangaroo.
