Equipment - Architectural Railway Curves, JGS "Greenfield"

Historical information

A set of Architectural Railway Curves contains a multitude of different plastic curves to assist as a draughting aid in drawing long smooth curved linear features such as highways and railway lines. Curves such as this set were used extensively by members of the Royal Australian Survey Corps when Cartography (map making) was produced by analog methods (hand drawn). They fell into disuse in the mid 1970s once digital Cartography methods were introduced.
