Referring to its appearance and colour, this exhibit appears to be a 105mm practice A.P.D.S. round.
Physical description
1. Cylinder with screw base. The base thread is counter clockwise. There is a black band, width 50 mm, around the base. It has grooves caused by a cannon barrel. The grooves show the twist angle of the barrel. Inside the cylinder at the base are 4 steel pins. The external diameter of the blue cylinder is 105mm.
2. Projectile, silver upper, dark lower section. The lower section has 3 simple fins. The base of the dark section has an extended nozzle, for the tracer fire.
3. Set of Sabot - 3 piece aluminum. Grooves on the outer sides. Insides are tapered to suit projectile.
