Historical information
The medal would have been issued to members of the Mining Employees Association of Australia. The Association began in Victoria and Tasmania on 9th August 1912 and functioned until 1918 when members joined the Australian Workers Union.
Physical description
A small round silver medal with a blue border with an image of a mine pit in the centre. The letters VIC are etched on the back along with the maker's details.The medal is attached to a decorative chain. The letters VIC and the maker's name are on the underside of the medal.
