Physical description

Wooden gavel with wooden striking base. Gavel head is cylindrical, with grooves carved into the head either side of the handle. End sections of both sides of gavel head are bulbous with a flat striking pad.
Striking base is a circular with a concave surface at top. Base radiates out slightly and is wider at the base than the top. The underside of the base is inset in a circular shape at centre. Engraved text at centre of underside of base reads 'RRB Hoffman/Tasmanian Huon/Pine 1987'.
