Domestic object, Shire of Bulla, 1966

Historical information

The champagne glass was used to commemorate the opening of the new Shire of Bulla Council Offices in 1966. Until the new council offices, council meetings were held either in the former Bulla Roads Office in Bulla or at the Sunbury Memorial Hall.

Significance

The building of permanent council offices in 1966 reflected the growth that was taking place in the township and surrounding areas from the 1960s onwards.

Physical description

A champagne glass with the crest of the former Shire of Bulla outlined in gold and the words, also in gold, MUNICIPAL OFFICES/SUNBURY VICTORIA, on the other side. A thin gold line is around the rim of the glass.
