This is one of a series of books put out by the Govt during and just after WW2, all services.
"Gordon" ex Eaglehawk, 2nd AIF. Sent this home to donor's mother for Christmas. He was her first boyfriend. It is believed "Gordon" never returned from active service.
Physical description
1. Book - hardcover khaki buckram. Printing is in dark brown ink. In the corner of the cover is a soldier, armed in full kit. His rifle is horizontal. The soldier has no head dress. The book has 129 pages of stories, photos, drawings and paintings.
2. The original postage box for above. Khaki cardboard, label in centre. Printing on box is in black ink. price was 3d in Sydney. The box is badly torn.

2. On the cover of the box: - To Miss Melva Yarwood, Bright St, Eaglehawk, Bendigo, Vic Australia. "Best wishes from Gordon".
