Historical information

One of many of a range of collectables produced by Bendigo Pottery featuring reproductions of artworks printed onto limited edition set of porcelain plates.
Michael McCarthy was born in Ireland and emigrated to Australia in 1966. His main focus has been pictorial paintings in which he observes nature and light. He returned to Ireland to live permanently in 1997.
The reverse of the plates says that the artist was local and he also produced oil paintings of various scenes around Bendigo similar to the images on the plates so the City may have partnered with Bendigo Pottery to create this limited edition series.
