HMAS BENDIGO.
This model was presented to the Bendigo District R.S.L. Museum by John Dowson of Toowoomba, Queensland in memory of his father "Commodore John Hastie Dowson, C.B.E." who as a Lieutenant was Commanding Officer in 1943 and in Salutation of all Officers and Members of Ship's Company who sailed in her throughout her service.
Physical description
Scale model of a ship made from plastic. Hull of ship is painted brown below the waterline. Remainder of hull painted white, light grey, dark grey. Superstructure painted grey and dark grey. Part of the deck painted to represent wood. Remainder of deck painted dark grey. Rigging made of cord. White ensign flying from stern. J187 painted on bow, port side and starboard side.
Model is mounted on a wooden plank with brass label attached.
