A small tan cloth covered hardcover book with the title: Simple Studies in British History Part 1 B.C. 55 to A.D. 1603 printed in black lettering on the front cover with a round publisher symbol and 1/9 at the bottom. The title is printed on the spine. This is a Second Course of Reading in British History by William Gillies, M.A. Inside, opposite the title page, is a foldout map of the British Empire throughout the world, showing the empire in red. Black and white illustrations, diagrams, maps and photographs are included. At the back are included three other history titles. It is quite damaged and worn through use. Pp.169.
