Historical information
These photographs of Mount Cook, New Zealand were taken by Olive Hamilton. Olive and William Hamilton managed a local guest/boarding house 'Silver Springs' located at the edge of Emerald Lake Park in the 1940s and 1950s. Olive was also president of the Victorian Amateur Cine Society Ladies Auxiliary. Most notably Olive and her husband William documented the 1954 Royal visit.
Significance
The photographs were taken by a local person renowned for her photography.
