Leah Rosenthal received this invitation to meet with Queen Alexandra after receiving her Associate Royal Red Cross at Buckingham Palace in April 1919. Leah Rosenthal had volunteered to join the Queen Alexandra Imperial Nursing Service Reserve in 1914 and served in France during World War I. It was customary for the Queen to meet with nurses at Malborough House after they had received their medals
