This emblem, was worn over the upper left sleeve of the uniform of nurses at the Alfred Hospital after they had passed their final exam. This item was owned by Leah Rosenthal who graduated in 1904

Physical description

Red fabric cross on a white armband. There are several small holes in the cross. On the left hand side of the armband there are three horizontal buttonholes in a vertical line. There are two similar buttonholes at the right hand side of the armband and a third between on a protruding tab

Inscriptions & markings

On the reverse side. Manufacture's name and item 'The Bangham H/FOUR-FOLD' have been stamped [black ink]. 'L. Rosenthal' handwritten and underlined [black ink]. Previous catalogue number handwritten [black ink]
