Audio - Crystal radio set

Historical information

Crystal radios are basic radio receivers, which operate using only the power of radio waves to produce sound. They use a piece of crystal mineral to detect the radio waves. The sound they detect is very faint so earphones must be used, and they can only detect radio stations quite close by. They were popular before cheap transistor radios became common.
