Historical information
Melville Civic Square saw an early Anzac service on [17 April 1988], as the square's civic clock tower was dedicated as a memorial to local residents who fought for Australia. The service included a requiem by Mrs Vivian Statham, the sole survivor of the Banka Island massacre.
