Historical information

The Methodist Church acquired land on the Erica Street corner in 1887. Three years later the first church building was built facing Erica Street. The "new" church was built in 1928 facing Balwyn Road in memory of Sir Aaron Danks. The foundation stone was laid on 15 December 1928. The Architect was Mr Louis R. Williams, the building contractor was Mr A. Richardson. In 1996, two buildings including the original church were demolished.
