This book is a soft green linen-covered textbook published by Whitcombe & Tombs Limited, widely used in Australian Government Schools for Grade VI in the early 1900's. It was the fourth of a series focusing on grammar and composition skills. The front cover has the title, series and full publishing details printed in black lettering enclosed within a black lined outline. There is a black outlined symbol in the middle.The price 10D is printed in the bottom right hand corner. The student's name is handwritten in black ink on the inside left of the front cover at the top. Full details are printed on the title page. There are workings of sums handwritten in black ink too. Inside there is a list of the Austral GRAMMARS series, an Introduction by Alfred Fussell, a list of two of The Southern Cross Poetry Books, Contents, followed by comprehensive examples and explanations of the lessons.
