Of particular note is the location of the Directorate on Letter dated 11 October 1945 (9129.1) that has the Survey Directorate as part of Land Headquarters 242 Kooyong Road TOORAK SE2 Melbourne. This letter expressed the desire to see overseas Survey Units return to Australia as soon as possible to start work on much needed Australian Survey priorities. It also discusses what action should be taken on Survey Corps mapping equipment.
Also of particular note is the Location of the Directorate on Letter dated 15 November 1945 (9129.2) that has the Survey Directorate at HQ Australian Military Forces at Victoria Barracks, Melbourne. This letter discusses who should possibly be presented with some Japanese captured swords.
