Items re George Every No 4491 (born Bendigo, enlisted Bendigo) on 16.7.1915 in 14th Reinforcements 6th Bn age 27 years 3 months, embark for Eygpt 1.4.1916, embark for France 29.3.1916, WIA 15.8.1916, GSW face and R Hand severe (plus thigh?) RTA 11.1.1917, discharged from the Army 4.6.1917.

The article relates to George’s return to Bendigo and his welcome from the “Welcome Home Committee”. Other articles suggest he was quite disfigured.
