Ceremonial object - Masonic Lodge Case and apron

Historical information

Masonic lodge ceremonial apron and case owned by John Leckie. He came to Tatura from Merrigum sometime after 1914 and opened up the first garage in Tatura behind Hogan Street. In 1922 he built the Central Motor Garage, Corner Hogan and Park Streets.

Physical description

Soft brown leather case with leather handle and metal lock. Gold embossed letters on front.
Ceremonial apron made of soft cream suede leather (possibly lambskin) with pale blue and maroon ribbon edging. Three metal letter "T" hand sewn onto front. Apron is lined with tan coloured cotton. Blue ribbon belt with a brass snake buckle attached.
