The photographs document the clearing of the site for building the stupa and the important consecration ceremony, which took place in November 1994.
The consecration of the site for the stupa by Khensur Kangyur Rinpoche was conducted to subdue all hostile energies and create an atmosphere of peace and goodwill, according to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
