Historical information

Dr Lawrence Paul Brunello (1936-2023) was the President of the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 1996-1998.

Physical description

Indeterminate artwork on board. Colour portrait of a man standing on a staircase, seen from above. The subject is wearing a white shirt with dark suit and dark tie, beneath a blue robe with yellow trim on front panels and at edges. The subject is wearing a medal in the shape of a nine-pointed star from a blue ribbon around his neck. The subject has black and grey hair and is looking up at the artist, with his body facing slightly to the left. The subject is resting their right hand on a staircase banister, with stairs visible below and beside the subject. Brass plaque attached to back of board is engraved with the text 'DR L.P. BRUNELLO/PRESIDENT/NOV. 1996 - OCT. 1998'. Handwritten inscription on back of board reads 'R. Sallourd [??] Sept. 21 2000'.
