Historical information
The original Primus stove was designed to be "soot-free" by vaporizing kerosene before ignition, a process requiring a precisely drilled, small-aperture jet nipple.
Early jet parts were made of brass, designed for longevity and maintenance by the user. In 1962 Optimus bought the Primus brand name for liquid fueled stoves. Together with the brand name they also got spare parts and partly finished stoves. Bahco retained the Primus brand name for liquid gas products.
