Historical information

This poster was printed by THE AUSTRALASIAN newspaper in 1929 as a promotion for the Royal Agricultural Show of Victoria. With its many photos and captions, it is an excellent reference document. It depicts Showground Personalities from all over Victoria, and members of the Council of the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria, Melbourne Show Promotion of 1929. Local Gippsland people shown and identified in captions are: P C Nixon (Orbost), J Trewin (Sale), A E Trewin (Orbost), and H P Cameron (Orbost).

Significance

This poster is significant because it represents a poster/promotion from 1929 of the Royal Agricultural Show of Victoria, and also shows images of representatives from throughout the State, including from the Orbost/Bairnsdale areas.

Physical description

A rectangular sheet of paper with multiple photographs which show people and cows and horses associated with Royal Agricultural Show of Victoria. All of the photos have captions, and the date Sept. 29, 1929 is printed at the top left and top right corners of the poster. In the top centre is THE AUSTRALASIAN.
