An account of Laura Grubb's service as an Army Nurse in Salonika during WWI. The article includes parts taken from letters and diaries that have been donated to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. It provides a fascinating account of living and work conditions in the field hospitals, the celebrations surrounding Christmas with the patients, and the great value the wounded and sick soldiers placed on the nurses who assisted them in such terrible times.
