The Kathleen Best Memorial Gates to open again
The gates at the former Women's Royal Australian Army Corps (WRAAC) we erected as commemoration of the life of Colonel Kathleen Best, OBE RRC, the first director of the WRAAC. The gates have been moved and reerected at the Royal Military College, Duntroon. The design of the gates is symbolic of Kathleen's life and work, which included several significant 'firsts', such as being the youngest Matron appointed in the Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS).
