This is one of many photos taken following the devastating Snowy River flood of 1971 which inflicted huge impact on the Orbost area, including the railway bridges adjacent to the Orbost Railway Station at Newmerella (Orbost). This photo appears to show a workman or assessor, perhaps from the Railways, near a section of railway line which has been undermined by the flood.
