Physical description

Frame: Hardwood timber frame - stained. The frame is rectangular and the inner edge is gold painted where it touches the glass. Under the glass between the frame and the photo is a hardwood section with a slight bevel o the photo. The back has a raised timber section, within which the photo is mounted. It has a layer of cardboard over the photo.
Photo: Black and white photo shows a young serviceman. he is wearing a large overcoat with collar up. It has dark buttons on the coat with a pattern but not clear enough to determine corps. The subject is wearing a darkish colour shirt with matching tie. He is wearing a knitted woollen scarf around his neck and tucked into his coat.

Inscriptions & markings

A small portion of the photographers name can be seen on the bottom RHS, possibly “TALMA”
