A pocket-sized device for measuring wind speed
Held up with the aperture in the back facing into the wind, the device works mechanically through a spring system and displays results across four scales:
- Beaufort scale
- Knots
- Miles per hour (mph)
- Metres per second (m/s)

The measurement of wind speed aids in fire management
